For this year’s edition of the long distance race „Classic Fyn Rundt“ around the island of Funen, hosting Kerteminde Sejlklub offers the possibility to compete under the rule of ORCi/ ORCc. With the race starting on Friday, the 3rd of June, Kerteminde officials therefore hope to encourage German yachts to compete and to support the Baltic-Circuit.

Furthermore, the GER-OO in cooperation with the British Kiel Yacht Club (BKYC) initiates a feeder- race. The “LateNight Cup” is starting Wednesday, the 1st of June at 09.30 in the evening off Kiel, leading the yachts their way northwards to Kerteminde. To gather as many yachts as possible, there will be no entry fee. In addition, a BBQ will be held at the site of the BKYC starting at 06:30 p.m. (15€/person) For yachts competing in the “LateNight Cup”, berthing can be provided upon consultation with the BKYC.

The prior announced “Palby Fyn Rundt” between the 27th and 29th of May forms the upbeat of this year’s Baltic- Circuit. Already 170 entries could be generated by hosting Bogense Sejlklub to date. This coastal classic sailed in the Danish archipelago attracts both moderate cruiser- racers and high performance race yachts year by year. Next to local rating systems, IRC was chosen by Bogense Sejlklub to encourage yachts competing in the Baltic- Circuit to take part in this ambitious regatta.

Both the “Classic Fyn Rundt” as the “Palby Rundt Fyn” were able to attract many sophisticated crews in the past years. Besides the challenge of the demanding waters around Funen, the wide range of entries sure makes up to the special charm of these events. We are looking forward to racing off and around Funen, amicable contact with sailors from Scandinavia and a refreshing beer after racing!
